Summer Fun

This post is a tad late, but I wanted to share with you what we have been doing in the last few weeks.  It seems like in August we feel the pressure of school starting, so we try to cram everything into a couple of weeks.  But that’s okay!

We were brave souls and took the boys to the Minnesota State Fair.  The boys had a lot of fun watching all the people.  I mean TONS of people.  We happened to go on opening day, which was also Thrifty Thursday (the real reason we went that day).  Really, $8 on a bag of cheese curds is ridiculous, so every buck we could save was worth it!

We found a little farm setup that let the boys walk through and be a farmer – they loved it!IMG_0176

Eli got to go on some rides.  Tractors and boats – all that matters in life!

And then Daddy got to go on a ride too:

IMG_0193Yup, Daddy’s favorite place was the Harley Davidson store.  He started this puppy up and it purred….it’s a nice dream, Honey!

And it wouldn’t be a State Fair trip without some ice cream and cookies!

And even though it was hot, and everyone was exhausted, Mommy got to stop at this store:

IMG_0206If anyone knows where these beloved yellow and blue bags belong, we can instantly be best friends.  IKEA is one of my favorite stores regarding home decor/DIY, and so I considered myself the luckiest girl in the world to be able to stop there on our way out of Minneapolis.  Even if Dad had to sit in the back of the truck with the boys and watch movies on the iPad while mom shopped because they were exhausted beyond reasonable control to be let out in public at that point!

Then, a few days later, we met my bro, his wife and their sweet little daughter in the Twin Cities to go to the zoo.  Now I didn’t get a lot of pictures that day, because we were chasing toddlers everywhere, and because, frankly, it was stinking hot and I didn’t feel like doing anything other than sweat.

Isn’t she about the cutest thing you’ve ever seen in your life?  You better get that gun ready, Mike!

We are now back into the routine of things.  Kiddos back at daycare and Daddy back to teaching.  He is teaching at one school this year, and is absolutely loving it!

We are well into our home study already for our adoption, and we are hoping that this part goes fast so that we can move on and get closer to our kiddo(s)!
