We have had an eventful last week in our adoption process. It was a huge emotional roller coaster, but we have finally made a decision on which country we will be adopting from!
And the country is…**Drum Roll**….
We are so happy to know what country our sweet little blessing(s) will be coming from! South Africa was not even an option two weeks ago. We had no idea that our adoption agency had a program in South Africa. We had made a decision to go with a different country, and we were ready to let our case worker know. We were not 100% comfortable with this decision because that country is currently suspending all adoptions until further notice. In the world of adoption we are learning that nothing is certain. And so we had no idea when that country would open. However, we felt it was the best decision for us to wait for it to re-open to international adoption. The day that we were going tell our case worker this decision, we got an email notifying us that there was a whole new program opening up through our adoption agency, and they were accepting 10 families. We were immediately interested! We contacted the South Africa intake team, and after some conversation we were accepted into the South Africa team!
We are so excited to move on with this process! We are finishing up our homestudy and hope to move into getting our immigration paperwork started!
