Both Hands: Hand #1

If you are a regular reader, you probably already know what I’m talking about when I write “Both Hands.”  But if not, it may sound really weird – like I’m announcing to the world that I do have both my right and left hand.  But that’s not it.  I do have both my hands, but this is something way more awesome!  So if you need a refresher or are checking out this site for the first time, check out this post to familiarize yourself.

In a nutshell, this is a rescue mission to rescue an orphan and a widow.  The persons of importance in this project are the orphan in South Africa (soon to be our son/daughter!), as well as a widow in our community.

Today I’m writing about Hand #1 – the orphan.

A lot of you may know from checking your mailbox now, but we have gotten all of our support letters out in the mail.  We’re not talking a few support letters.  We are talking over 750 letters!

This is just a few of them – people had to take them home and finish!  My father-in-law is a mail carrier in our hometown, so he was busy the day that our letters reached their destination!

Our team covered 34 states and 4 countries with appeals to sponsor us to work on our widow’s house on August 23rd.

All financial support (every dollar!) that comes rolls in over the next few weeks will be going directly toward our adoption costs.  Our goal for this project is raising $10,000!  We thought this was a high goal at first, but the Lord has a way of working when we think things are impossible.  I love that, because that’s when His glory is put on display!  If we reach our goal, we will be very close to being fully funded for this adoption!  That translates: we can bring our child HOME!

Here is the information for this project (click on the pictures), and how you can help!  You can also go to this website.  Please prayerfully consider sponsoring our team while we fix up her house in under two weeks!

Thank you all so much for your support!
