We like puzzles. I know, we’re nerds. We act like we’re 80. Don’t judge us. We got the best puzzle in the mail the other day! And we decided to open it up and put it together – starting at 10:30 p.m. Knowing straight off the bat that we wouldn’t be able to stop until the thing was done. Because we have addictive habits like that when it comes to mind-challenging objectives. And it’s sad that we get competitive with each other over a puzzle. But we do. And we did. So 1.5 hours later we had the puzzle finished. And I got to put the last piece in, for the record. We got about 5.5 hours of sleep that night, but we woke with the satisfaction of knowing we conquered that puzzle.
So what is this puzzle, you say? It’s actually the next fundraiser we decided to kick off!
Thank you so much, my sweet friend Suzy, for suggesting this to us! We want our child to know all the names of those who helped to bring him/her home. Everyone that we know of who has donated in some way will get their name written on the back of a puzzle piece. Many of you reading this have already done that, and your name is already written – THANK YOU! But this puzzle has a lot of pieces. And we want every piece filled with a name. We have a lot of them filled already, but there are some blank ones. And we can’t have that!
So here’s the deal: If you’d like our child to know you are praying for him/her, and would like to help us financially bring him/her home, we are “selling” these pieces. At the end of this, the puzzle will be put together between two pieces of glass so our child can see the front and remember that he/she is adored, as well as turn it around and see all of you that second that.
A minimum of fifteen bones gets your name on one of these puzzle pieces. That’s less than some of you spend on coffee in one week. Or less than going out to eat once. Or the amount we spend on gas in two days instead of walking/biking.
Please consider buying one of these! Let’s not leave one of these puzzle pieces blank!
